In continuation of yesterday, in what ways was David delayed?
How we should not misunderstand the signs of success that we have reached the destined place where we are supposed to be according to God’s plan.
1 Samuel 18:12 Saul was afraid of David because the Lord was with David but had departed from Saul. We should quit dominating others and then stop thinking that since people fear us, we have accomplished the aim that God has set for us. It’s a human propensity that when we know someone is afraid of us, we tend to dominate. The majority of compassionate people come from the weaker sections, while the powerful take advantage of the weak. Similarly, Saul feels the same way about David. Therefore, instead of being intimidated by your position and physical might, they should fear you with the respect you have among others. And God adores those who are able to preserve that respect.
If people admire you for your accomplishments, it doesn’t necessarily imply you’ve reached where you were meant to be, as stated in 1 Samuel 18:16. But all Israel and Judah loved David because he led them in their campaigns. David was so much loved by the people during that time, but it took some time before he was made king. According to Matthew 10:36, a man’s enemies will be the members of his household. If a man’s methods are pleasant to the LORD, he causes even his foes to live at peace with him, according to Proverbs 16:7. As written in both verses. If we act truly, honestly, and morally just like God wants us to in whatever we do, both God and other people will love us in return. David had a deep love for God and received love from others as a result.
Last but not least, despite being bright, wise, and having a good name, you won’t achieve your intended objective. According to 1 Samuel 18:30, the Philistine commanders continued to go out to battle, and as often as they did, David met with more success than the rest of Saul’s officers, and his name became well known.
With all these indications, one should not assume that their place in life is what God has planned for them. Instead, one should be kind and grateful to God and others, and in the presence of God, one should be kind and praise him. At the appropriate time, God will raise you up and assign you to your desired positions. And God will do greater things than you can imagine.
