When they received it, they began to grumble against the landowner Mat 20:11
Story: Jesus said a parable about a landowner who went and asked people to work in his vineyard early in the morning and promised them to pay a denarius. Later at different time of the day he called more people, and told them to pay a right amount, but the actual amount was stated. End of the day all of them got the same amount, but the first group was very upset.
Lesson 1: The workers who were hired about five in the afternoon came and each received a denarius immediately those who were hired first, they expected to receive more. Comparison with others leads to disappointment.
Lesson 2: Although the first group got what they were promised, they grumbled, because they were offended that master was more generous to others. Are we uneasy when we see others are more blessed?
Prayer: Father Lord, I want you to be my shepherd, let me not compare with others. Give me the attitude where I will rejoice with others in their blessing. Amen.
