Why couldn’t we drive it out?

disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?” Mat 17:19

Thought

When we have sickness in our house, when we come cross demon posssed people, we see someone who we have compassion and who needs genuine healing, why is that we can not drive out these forces of darkness. Disciples faced the same situation. Although they had authoirty over demons (proof – Calling the Twelve to him, he sent them out two by two and gave them authority over evil spirits.Mark 6:7). We also are called as the children of living God, why are we living with out power ?

Reason 1

Jesus replied “Because of the littleness of your faith” Math 17:20. Lord is expecting us to exercise of faith. To believe we are in that position because Lord permitted and He wants us to take control of the situation through faith. Are you still drifting away by unbelief ?

Reason 2

Jesus replied “This kind can come out only by prayer” Mark 9:29(NIV). How should we react in a situation, what should we pray, what should we expect, these answers will be got through prayer, listen to God. Do you love praying ?

Reason 3

Jesus replied “This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.” Mark 9:29(KJV) Strongholds of satan can be broken by fasting. I believe true fasting is poisioning satan. Daniel fasted for 21 days, answer was also stopped by satan for 21 days, what if Daniel stopped fasting at 20th day?. Jesus started His minstry by 40 day fast, Moses recieved 10 commandments following 40 day fast. Are you addicted to food?

Prayer

Lord; you know how weak I am. Strengthen my prayer life. Teach me to believe, no more doubts. Teach me to fast in the biblical truths. Amen.
