Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against the yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees Mat 16:12
Burden: Jesus and his disciples where going across a lake, but they forgot to take bread. On the Jesus said “Be careful,” Jesus said to them. “Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” Mat 16:6, Jesus meant to be careful of false teaching, but “They discussed this among themselves and said, “It is because we didn’t bring any bread.” Mat 16:7, they were burdened of worldly need, when Jesus was speaking of spiritual need
Faith: “Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked, “You of little faith, why are you talking among yourselves about having no bread?” Mat 16:8 When we are burdened, worried of our lack of resources, Jesus says we have little faith about the provider. In tough times remember what the Lord had done for us, “Do you still not understand? Don’t you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered? Mat 16:9
Prayer: Lord Teach me to be heavenly minded, having burden for things of the Father. Lord; help me to have great faith. Amen.
