Deu 3:21 -29
Story: Moses led Israelites to promised land from Egypt to Canaan for 40 years, on their way at Meribah when there was no water. Lord asked Moses to speak to the rock; for water. But Moses spoke and hit the rock with his staff, Lord told Moses because did not trust me enough (that God could provide water by spoken word alone), you will not enter the land of Canaan.
At the end of their Journey, Moses pleaded with the Lord: Let me go over and see the good land (Canaan). But because the Lord was angry with Moses and the Lord said “That is enough, Do not speak to me anymore about this matter. Go up to the top of Pisgah and look at the land with your own eyes, since you are not going to cross this Jordan, but commission Joshua”.
Lesson: When Moses prayed, Lord replied that is enough, Lord could have ignored the prayer, but our Lord cannot deny the prayer of His Children, therefore Lord asked Moses not to pray about it anymore as that was not God’s plan. So let us pray to the Lord, as we will always have answers from the throne room of Almighty God. Prayers are powerful.
Moses was used mightily by God, therefore consequence of a small lack of trust resulted in Moses, not able to enter the promised Land. How much more we should we be careful when lose hope and not trusting God. We knowing grace and unconditional love of our God, we should always trust and rejoice in the Lord as we have our saviour at our side.
Prayer: Father Lord, help me to be a man of faith and a man of prayer and trust in you always. Teach us to rejoice always. Amen.
