“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Pr o 3:5
Story: There was no water when people reached the wilderness of Zin. God spoke to Moses: “Take the staff. Assemble the community, speak to that rock that’s right in front of them and it will give water.
Moses raised his arm and slammed his staff against the rock—once, twice. Water poured out. God said to Moses “Because you didn’t trust me, didn’t treat me with holy reverence, you aren’t going to lead this company into the land that I am giving them
Lesson: Moses felt speaking alone might not be sufficient, so he struck the rock twice like earlier. When the going gets tough, do we trust the Lord enough? The way we react, does it show that we really trust enough? Do we try to help God for His promises to be fulfilled?
When we do not trust the Lord completely, do we realize it is dishonoring God? Lack of trust will even lead to bad consequences.
Prayer: Father Lord, teach me trust you enough, and forgive me to limit you many times. Amen.
