Story: Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-five years. He did evil in the eyes of the Lord. He did much evil in the eyes of the Lord, arousing his anger. The Lord spoke to Manasseh and his people, but they paid no attention. In his distress he sought the favor of the Lord his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his ancestors. And when he prayed to him, the Lord was moved by his entreaty and listened to his plea; so he brought him back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is God.
Lesson: One of most evil king ever mentioned in the Bible. Manasseh went into captive and torture under the kingdom of Assyria, from there he cried to God and humbled. Amazing turn around, Lord out of His mercy delivered him and established him back and he changed his ways. Greatest lesson, humbling is the only step that needs to be done for the Lord to deliver and change our life forever. Humility comes when we understand the greatness of God and realize of our wretched state.
Prayer: Father Lord, forgive me for the pride that I have. You are so great; I humble myself in front of the Almighty who cannot be comprehended in my finite knowledge. Amen.
