Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the LORD Jer 1:8
Nation of Judah sinned and went away from God. Lord chose Jeremiah as His mouth piece to warn the consequences of their sins. For this purpose Lord had chosen Jeremiah even before he was born “before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet” Jer 1:5 (ESV) Lord has a purpose of everything that He has created. Lord has chosen us to be His children, so how much greater will be His plans for us. Listen and wait at His feet to find the purposes for us.
Always Lord’s plans for us will be greater that our greatest dreams about us. Jeremiah’s purpose was to speak out Lord’s words. He was not confident looking at His weakness and was also scared of the consequences. “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth” Jer 1:6 (ESV). We also give excuses for not doing our day to day things thinking of our weakness and consequences. Lord who called us knew all this.
Lord said “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak” Jer 1:7 Lord is in control of our weakness, His strength will be manifested in our weakness. Again Lord said “Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you” Jer 1:8 (ESV). Nothing to fear of future, although we do not know what is held for future, we have the one who holds the future.
Prayer: Father Lord, in all my weakness I know your strength will be manifested. I will never fear as I have the love of Almighty and guidance of Holy Spirit and grace from Jesus. Amen.
