Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34
Story: Jesus, Son of God, was taken to Golgotha after torturing him, they kept crown of thorns on His head and He was nailed to the cross. On the cross first thing Jesus did was to pray for those who mocked and crucified. Jesus prayed for their forgiveness even when they did not ask and even when they were continuing to mock Him.
Lesson: For a moment let us think about the heart of Jesus, no anger, no bitterness to the people who tortured Him beyond words. He even prayed for them. Do we have the same attitude like Jesus? Jesus prayed for people who did not ask forgiveness, so if a person asks the forgiveness to the Almighty, how much more, He will forgive. Let us with a broken heart ask for forgiveness, for it is powerful.
Prayer: Father Lord, thank you for sending Jesus your only Son to be crushed on the cross for our sins. Father Lord out of your mercy forgive all our sins. Amen.
