Saul had a rise and fall. But now, God is looking for a new king to appoint.
So he sent Samuel to see Jesse’s family. And Samuel was instructed there by God. In 1 Samuel 16:7, the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him.” The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. ” God still loves us, regardless of how beautiful or attractive we are. We must keep in mind, nevertheless, that God resides in and our body is like a temple for God. It becomes crucial that we keep it pure, holy, and spiritual in every way.
In 1 Samuel 16:13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up and went to Ramah. David was young.
God sees both David’s heart and his brother’s heart. But David was chosen by the Lord despite not having the same strength and good looks as his older siblings. Why was it the case? What kind of heart does he see?
Praising God is essential, and David is well renowned for doing so. All those who exalt God’s name are loved by him. And as Christians, we should all pray to God to strengthen our confidence in him and to enable us to work, give, and do the things he loves. As stated in Deuteronomy 11:13 So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today—to love the Lord your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul
In Deuteronomy 30:6, the Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live. God seeks complete love, not just some of it. People often read the Bible and do other things, yet they still don’t live their lives according to how God would have them. This begs the question: Do we love God more or do we adore earthly pleasures?
The other way is by adhering to God’s word as it is written in the Bible and retaining it in your heart.
Deuteronomy 26:16 states, “The Lord your God commands you this day to follow these decrees and laws; carefully observe them with all your heart and with all your soul.” Again in 1 Kings 14:8, I tore the kingdom away from the house of David and gave it to you, but you have not been like my servant David, who kept my commands and followed me with all his heart, doing only what was right in my eyes.
2 Chronicles 15:12They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their ancestors, with all their heart and soul. It’s necessary to look for God and yearn for him to be with us every day, as he ought to be.
Giving Jesus the praise and honor he deserves, as instructed in Psalm 86:12 I will praise you, Lord, my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Sometimes, individuals tend to follow their own paths rather than those that God has predetermined. If we act selfishly in that situation, we must pray to God to set us right.
Lastly, whenever we have the chance, we should praise God and let others know about him. Sometimes they could be afraid or embarrassed to do that, but we should confess God every day. Never should we wait. As it is written in scripture Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart. It’s important to remember that sometimes our actions speak louder than words when it comes to exalting Christ in everything we do.
God is impartial and checks to see if all those attributes are present. It was merely because David had those that God picked him to rule Israel. Likewise, we ought to possess it.
