Verse: The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them Gen 3:21
Thought: When man sinned for the first time it resulted in “.. the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked” Gen 3:7 But we see in the above verse we see that the Lord made a garment and clothed man to cover their shame. How did the first sin happen?
Listening: Now the serpent … said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” Gen 3:1 First step towards sin, is listening to wrong motives and questioning God.
Exaggerating: “The woman said to the serpent…God did say, …you must not touch it, or you will die.’” Gen 3:2,3. Lord never asked them not to touch, Lord said only not to eat. Adding a bit to what the Lord said, so it sounds good. This is very dangerous.
Desire: “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. … when you eat from it …..you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Gen 3:4, 5. Listening and desiring to be great in short cuts. Yes we all should desire to be like God but by obeying.
Enjoyable: “When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it.” Gen 3:6. For a short duration sin will look enjoyable to do, but it will destroy us forever.
Prayer: Lord; help me to listen to you alone, let all the words of my mouth be truthful. Let my desire be to walk with you. Let me enjoy your company alone. Amen.
