In 1 Samuel 13:11-12  What have you done?” asked Samuel. Saul replied, “When I saw that the men were scattering, and that you did not come at the set time, and that the Philistines were assembling at Mikmash, I thought, ‘Now the Philistines will come down against me at Gilgal, and I have not sought the Lord’s favor.’  So I felt compelled to offer the burnt offering.

The fact that there were more Palestinians than Israelites and the soldiers were preparing to flee rather than fight the Philistines. After seeing that, on his own, he made the sacrifice. God has previously assigned various responsibilities to various people. Similar to this, Levite priests perform offerings and sacrifices, but Saul’s actions were unlawful because he was neither a priest nor a Levite. As a result, he is not allowed to sacrifice a burned offering or peace offering, yet he does.

In this presumptuous act, revealed his selfishness and insecurity that his people would desert him and he would lose his position and reputation.  In a same vein, People also become insecure and self-centered in many different ways, And it is obvious in this way that the spirit of God will depart us.

Second, sinful behaviour might be caused by fear. Saul only offered a burnt offering because he feared that Palestinians might attack him. Similar to this, people commit wrongdoing out of fear in order to preserve their reputation, friendship or popularity. They understand that they are not doing the right thing even though they are aware that it is not a good idea. If that occurs, maintaining our holy spirits becomes challenging.

Lust of material and insulting god. God saying to destroy saul but But in 1 Samuel 15 :9 Saul and the army spared Agag and the best of the sheep and cattle, the fat calves[a] and lambs—everything that was good. These they were unwilling to destroy completely, but everything that was despised and weak they totally destroyed.  God is keeping track of all the offences and bad behaviour directed towards him. Obeying God’s Word is the best choice for our lives and for our service to other yet failing to do so is an insult to God, which is wrong.

1 Samuel 15 :11 “I regret that I have made Saul king, because he has turned away from me and has not carried out my instructions.”God clearly wants our obedience, and this is undeniable. However, if we do disobey, we should repent and beg for their assistance in delivering us from all these deceptive sins in our prayers.

1 Samuel 15 :15Saul answered, “The soldiers brought them from the Amalekites; they spared the best of the sheep and cattle to sacrifice to the Lord your God, but we totally destroyed the rest.” Saul is attempting to deceive God in this situation. similarly People while doing things can mistakenly believe that God would want them to do that, but acting improperly in the name of God is acceptable. We have to understand that nothing is necessary for God, and also, if we want the Holy Spirit, we can’t get it by trying to please people. Instead, we must be patient, completely obey God’s Word, and compassionate.
