Now you are under a curse Gen 4:11
Cain was the first man that was cursed by God, when Adam sinned only the ground was cursed. First Curse – What lead to the curse? What the result of the curse?
Wrong Offering: Abel brought the first and the best to the Lord as an offering Gen 4:4 And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. Cain did not do that. When we make offering to the Lord, do we bring the first of all our blessings and the best to the Lord, thus we can enter into partnership with God. Word says Gen 4:4b The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering.
Wrong Reaction: Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? Gen 4:6 Cain was angry that Abel was accepted, downcast that Lord did not accept him. Let us examine our state, are we angry that others have found favor from God.
Ignored Warning: A strong warning from God Gen 4:7 ..sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.” Evil one can only set traps, only we can act, here Lord is warning us to overcome the temptation. But we know Cain went and killed Abel resulted in the curse.
3 Fold Curse: Gen 6:11-16 Now you are under a curse.. When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth… So Cain went out from the Lord’s presence” 3 direct results, your hard word will not produce results, will be wandering without any rest and finally out of the presence of God.
Prayer: Lord; help us to be like Abel in bringing the first and the best to the Lord. Help us to avoid the lifestyle of Cain. Amen.
