Verse
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Math 5:6
Thought
When Jesus began to teach, He said people who hunger and thirst of righteousness they are blessed and their desire of righteousness will be fulfilled. Are we struggling and denying sins so we will not miss Lord’s fellowship, or do we have a strong desperate desire to live holy by the grace of God. There is joy and power of God in holy living.
David’s Desire: Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless Ps 19:13. David desired to live blameless and he prayed to the Lord to keep him away from wilful sins. Do we really desire to live blameless?
Paul’s Desperation: What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord Rom 7:24,25 Paul knew the carnal weakness but he never stopped being desperate to live holy, he depended on the Lord and knew Lord will lead him into His righteousness.
Daniel’s Decision: But Daniel resolved not to defile himself Dan 1:8. In midst of adverse situation, Daniel took a strong decision, he will not defile himself. Let us also take strong decision to live holy.
Prayer
Lord; 2010 you had been so good to me and you filled me with all what I desired; Lord now desire to be righteous in your grace. Please fulfil my desires. Amen
