Verse:
God heard and answered when his people prayed. 2 Sam 21:14
Thought:
Why is it that our prayers are not answered, why is it that Lord hides His face when we search for Him. People of Israel cried to the Lord during Isaiah’s time and the Lord replied “I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.” Isa 1:15 . When we compromise with our life in doing sins and take grace lightly, in crisis we will end up like the shunamite lady “By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not. Song 3:1.
That’s why Paul said 2 Co:13:5 “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you.” Ask the Lord to revile you all you sins, stop sinning by His grace and hate sin, stop fearing the consequences of sin. Lord needs, Psalms 51:17 “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart“.
Prayer:
Sorry Lord for taking sin lightly; forgive me. Create in me a new heart that hates sin. Amen.
