Verse:
A man of knowledge uses words with restraint, and a man of understanding is even-tempered. Proverbs 17:27
Thought:
How do you use your tongue, does it edifies others and bring glory to God? Who can control His tongue from sinning? David prayed “Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.” Pslams 141:3. Solomon realized it that’s why He said “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21. Yes our words have POWER, are you releasing the power of God in your words?
Bible warns very strongly “He who guards his mouth preserves his life, but he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.” Proverbs 13:3. James warned that a wrong tongue is a tool of hell that leads to destruction James 3:6. How do you control your tongue? A man of knowledge can do it (A man of knowledge uses words with restraint Prov 17:27). (Proverbs 1:7) “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge”. If you fear the Lord then your words will be only for His Glory. Listen, Isaiah seeing the God’s glory, fear griped him and He said, “Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips” Isaiah 6:5.
Prayer:
Lord, teach me the fear of the Lord. Help me to understand more about the fear of the Lord and let my lips bring glory to You alone. Amen.
