Jesus warned us in Luke 13:24b “many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to”
This was the answer / warning Jesus gave when one person asked Luke 13:23 “Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?”
Who was Jesus mentioning about, it is about so called believers who made effort but did not enter into eternity with Jesus. Why did they fail? Let us examine ourselves if we are also in the same path?
Closed Door: Luke 13:25 “Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading,‘Sir, open the door for us.’ These people reached the house after the owner closing the door or it was closed at their face. I believe this happened because of delayed confession. We are reminded many times in the bible Heb 3:15 “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts” Do not ignore conviction of the Holy Spirit, do not enjoy secret sins, change your ways. Do not take sins lightly.
No Knowledge: Luke 13:27 ““But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’ They could not enter because Jesus did not know them. Why Luke 13:26 says “We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets”. Then how did Jesus lose their knowledge, because they continued in sins. Once in Christ we need to change our ways.
We will lose our way if we do not stop (confess immediately) and change (dedicate to do His will) our ways.
Lord, Jesus beginning of this new month. I need your forgiveness and your anointing to live holy. This month my prayer is Ps 142:7 “Set me free from prison that I may praise your name” In Jesus name. Amen.
