Verse:
“But David found strength in the Lord his God.” 1 Samuel 30:6
Thought:
When David and his army of 600 men came back to the city they lived, Amalekites had burned the city and carried all who were in the city. Every one started to weep, they were greatly distressed and the people in the army started to talk of stoning David because they felt it happened because they joined David. What a bad situation. But we read, “But David found strength in the Lord his God.” 1 Samuel 30:6 . Later in chapter we read David goes with the people and defeat the Amalekites and brings back all, it says 1 Samuel 30:19 “Nothing was missing“. We know Battle belongs to the Lord.
But in tough times can you find strength in the Lord. For it says in the word “Do not grieve; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10 . We are God children not called to sit and cry in our troubles but to be powerful. David inquired to the Lord in this particular chapter many times to find what is to be done. Pray to God what you need to do that crying why this happened and worrying about future. For the Battle belongs to the Lord.
Prayer:
Lord I will find strength in you, I need only your strength and strengthen me Lord. Amen.
