Verse
Only do not rebel against the LORD; and do not fear the people of the land, … the LORD is with us; do not fear them Num 14:9
Thought
Moses, send 12 leaders of 12 tribes along with Joshua to see Canaan. Canaan was the Promised Land, and the Lord brought out the people from Egypt for giving this land as possession. People went and were scared seeing the size of the people who were occupying Canaan; they lost courage to go for a war against the Canaanites. Today are you also in the state scared to face the situation you are in. Do you feel the task ahead, the problem in front of you, is so big. Israelites felt the same way. “We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” Num 13:33. They felt they are too weak to face the situation
Joshua and Caleb said “Only do not rebel “ Num 14:9 by talking negative of the situation but just believe “the LORD is with us; do not fear them” Num 14:9. In that situation Moses prayed “But now, I pray, let the power of the Lord be great” Num 14:17. Since Caleb believed even in that situation Lord commented about him “But .. my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly.. his descendants will inherit it” Num 14:24. Yes when people reached Canaan, only Joshua and Caleb was there of all the people who started from Egypt (totally 6,00,000 men also, who were born on the way). Are you a Caleb? Who believes in every situation?
Prayer
Lord, give me attitude of Caleb to follow you wholeheartedly. Help me to believe and see the mighty power of God. Teach me to understand that I am more than a conqueror for the battle belongs to the Lord. Amen.
