Promise
: Mathew 13:8 “Seeds fell on good soil …”
Thought
Jesus spoke to general public only by parables. This was the first parable given by Jesus, and at the beginning of the year let us also meditate on this. Seed is the Word of God and ground is the heart of people. Jesus explained about four kinds of people. We belong to which group ? 4 kinds of Grounds ?
Path
Mathew 13:19 “When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path.”
Lord convicts through the word and our conscience, but this group ignores and not bothered about obedience. They do not recieve Jesus as their savior. Do we also at times take grace lightly and willingly sin. Repent and Recieve!
Rocky Places
Mathew 13:20,21 “The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time…”
This group gets excited about Jesus, and recieves Him and takes resolutions, but they do not walk with Jesus every moment, do not live as per the word. Their decision are broken in very short time. There are many belivers even after many years still live in dreadful sin, and any decision taken does not last more than a week. Repent and Obey !
Throns
Mathew 13:22 “The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful.”
This group also accepts but self centered and live for the things of the world, so they are not fruitful. They never want to carry the burden of Jesus, they want Jesus only for their blessing. Obedience is never their concern. Repent and Surrender!
Good Soil
Mathew 13:23 “But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop”
This group recieve and surrender to live holy. They have the zeal of fear the Lord. They surrender to fulfill the purposes of the Lord, who send His only begotten son to die for us, they are filled by the Holy Spirit and waiting and preparing of the second coming of Jesus.
Lessons
This new year, let us not ignore convictions, nor take grace lightly. Repent and let us live by the word, let us carry the burden of lost souls, and surrender for Holy Living. Let us be fruitful.
Prayer
Lord; forgive me and make this word fall in good soil and let their be great fruit in this new year. 2010 let it be a year of victory and we doing great things with God. Amen.
