BOLD TO PRAY

Verse

O LORD of Heaven’s Armies, God of Israel, I have been bold enough to pray this prayer to you because you have revealed all this to your servant, saying, ‘I will build a house for you–a dynasty of kings 2 Samuel 7:27

Thought

David is telling, he bold enough to pray only because Lord promised that Lord will establish the family of David. David took prayer very seriously; whenever his relation with God was shaken he feared even to pray. When David committed sin, David before confessing He said Psalm 32:3-5 “When I kept silent my bones wasted away … Then I acknowledged my sin to you” Do we consider sin so seriously, That’s why Paul said work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

When Lord’s anger was poured on Uzzah for his irreverent act of holding the ark, David saw it and it says in the word, “David was afraid of the Lord that day” 2 Sam 6:9. Do we realize Lord will judge the whole world? He will pour of His anger on the evil at an appointed time. Do we tremble at this thought and on the thought of His awesome presence? We know that in the whole Bible whoever saw the glory of God all of them fell face down. Have we ever come to this true reverence to God?

Lord called David a man after His own heart. I believe it was because of serious reactions whenever he sinned, he literally broke down in front of God asking forgiveness and David had great reverence. Where are we in these aspects?

Prayer

Lord I am sorry for taking sins lightly, give me the true fear of the Lord. Reveal to me the greatness of the Lord that I may work out my salvation in fear and trembling and I will never take grace lightly. Amen.
