Verse:
The LORD became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the L ORD 1 Kings 11:9
Thought:
God blessed Solomon with power, peace, riches and wisdom because he asked for wisdom to lead the people, Solomon built the temple and on day of dedication, Solomon prayed and fire came down from heaven, Solomon wrote four books in the bible, never he lost a battle but he fell into sin and was rejected by God. This is the same man who wrote “Trust in the L ORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” Prov 3:5 and verse like “Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty, of every human being.” Ecc 12:13 and “Hear from heaven, your dwelling place, and when you hear, forgive. “ 1 Kings 8:30 and even He wrote beautiful Psalms like 127 .Man who knew everything about forgiveness and how to live in the strength of the Lord.
It started with small compromises, which turned out to habit and ended up as the part of his life that even a strong warning from God did not change him. He was lost. Word says, he started to love many women(1 kings 11:1), which reduced his devotion to God and that lead him to do evil by sacrificing to other God’s, then slowly stopped obeying God commands.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus help me not to do any compromises or love anything else other than you. My First love and my First priority is always you my Lord Jesus. Amen
