Our Call
“I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Jer 1:5 (ESV) Jeremiah was called by God to be His prophet. Whole nation had sinned but now Lord has found one man who is going to proclaim God’s message to nations. Same way we are also called for a purpose. How do we respond to the Almighty’s call?
Our Weakness
“Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.” Jer 1:6 (ESV) First thing Jeremiah said is, I do not know to speak, I am young. We are also seeing our weakness, and not fulfilling Lord ‘ call. How did the Lord respond “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you…” Jer 1:7-8 (ESV) why worry, never doubt, Lord is with us.
Our Sight
“And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” Jer 1:11 (ESV) we should look at things and see things the way the Lord sees things. When Jeremiah replied what he saw, Lord said “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.” Jer 1:12 (ESV) For the Lord’s promise needs to perform, we need to see well. Promise will fulfil when we see with the eyes of faith.
Our Reaction
“But you, dress yourself for work; arise, and say to them everything that I command you”. Jer 1:17 (ESV) So let get ready, always listen to the Lord and speak only things what the Lord asks us to speak. Yes Lord I am ready.
