Psalm 70
David made a beautiful and very straight forward prayer. He wrote as he writes to his own father, do we share such a relation with the Almighty. Can we pray like this in our troubles?
Come Quickly
Psalm 70:1 “Hasten, O God, to save me; O LORD, come quickly to help me.” David is asking Lord to come quickly and save. Hasten, do we without questioning and murmuring of the situation, call on the Lord, and cry out please come fast
Enemies Disgraced
Psalm 70:2 “May those who seek my life. be put to shame and confusion; may all who desire my ruin be turned back in disgrace.” Vengeance belong to the Lord, never act against those who wrong you and never have bitterness on those who hurt, just ask and trust in the Lord to take control.
Salvation to Exalt
Psalm 70:4 “But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation always say, “Let God be exalted!” Always ask and always receive from the Lord for the glory of the Almighty and that we may praise and exalt Him always
Come, do not delay
Psalm 70:5 “Yet I am poor and needy; come quickly to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; O LORD, do not delay.” Realize we are poor (spiritual poverty is more dangerous) and needy (need of power of God), it could be physical or emotional needs too; let it be anything, our help is only God, our deliverer is the one we serve, our Father in Heaven. Oh Lord; do not delay.
