Reading : Psalm 19

Thought
David started Psalm 19 by describing the beauty of creation and how it proclaims the work of the Almighty and how every moment nature displays. Then David speaks of the word of God, that it will revive souls, makes a simple wise, brings joy to heart, gives insights and it warns us from sin.

David says the word of God is “more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey” Psalm 19:10. Is the word of God really so great for us. The moment we consider the word so precious we will be transformed.

David ends the Psalm with a beautiful prayer of confession.

Reveal: Psalm 19:11 Also — Thy servant is warned by them When we learn and study the word of God more, we will be warned of what is right and wrong. We will only understand the Lord’s standards and purposes when we sit with the word of God, learning it is knowing the heart of God. Be a diligent student of word.

Restore: Psalm 19:12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse you me from secret faults. There are so things we do that are sins which we do not realize, David is asking the Almighty to cleanse him of all secret sins, look at the dedication he has to be pure in God’s sight. Are we desperate to be Holy?

Relieve: Psalm 19:13 Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me David confessed there are some sins that he was doing willfully, that he trying to overcome, David is asking the Lord to keep him from willful sins so that he will not be controlled by those. Unless we surrender and seek the help of Almighty to overcome willful sins, we will always be struggling, the moment we look at God, we will become over comers.

Resolve: Psalm 19:14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight David is praying that every word that proceeds from his mouth and every thought he has be pleasing in the sight of the Almighty. Wow! what a desire, let us also desire and speak the desire to our Lord to fulfill those desire. Truly the Almighty delights in our desires.
